Who doesn’t love a good tuna melt? But sometimes – or for you, perhaps all of the time – bread is off the menu. Try serving it with kale.

  • 1 onion
  • 1 bunch kale
  • 8 oz cherry tomatoes
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 10 oz canned tuna
  • sea salt, to taste
  • ground black pepper, to taste


  1. Peel and dice onion. Remove stems from kale and roughly chop. Slice tomatoes in half. Shred cheese.
  2. Heat butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Add onions, and saute until translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add kale, and cook until starting to wilt. Add tuna and cheese, cover, and cook until cheese is melted and tuna is warmed through.
  3. Top with cherry tomatoes, and salt and pepper, to taste. Serve and enjoy!
