Got weight loss goals? Working on muscle gains? The Daily Macro Tracker tallies up what and how much you eat at every meal. If you follow a speciality meal plan or want a better understanding of what’s in food, you’ll find that our macro tracking tool does all the mental math for you.

Best of all, it’s linked to your meal plan.

You can set goals for how much fat, protein, carbohydrate, and calories you want to eat. Then, once real life has happened, you can edit how many portions you ate in one meal. The tracker displays the general breakdown of macronutrients: your daily intake of fat, protein, and carbs.

Within our Daily Macro Tracker, goals are color-coded. With a quick glance, you’ll know if you hit your target for the day. And if you find yourself snacking on an off-plan avocado before dinner, simply add it to the tracker.

Easy right?

How the Daily Macro Tracker works

To access your macro tracker, go to the main menu and click on Macro Tracker. You’ll then see what you’ve eaten for the week and logged food broken down into calories, carbs, fat, and protein. If you prefer, you can change the view to percentages.

Within the macro tracker, you have the option to view your Weekly Summary and your Daily Goals.

Goals will show up in your Weekly Summary as red or green numbers under calories, carbs, fat, and protein. Red numbers indicate missed goals. Green numbers mean you met your goals.

When setting goals, you have the option to enter them manually or use the Real Plans Macro Calculator. Tell us your gender, current weight, height, age, and activity level – and we’ll create a macro breakdown that will help you maintain weight, lose weight, or gain muscle mass.

Our #1 reason to skip the macro tracker

Seeing numbers next to your food may trigger obsessive calorie counting. This isn’t what macro tracking is about.

As much as food is nutrition, it’s also wrapped up in emotions. For better and worse. There is a dark side to counting calories, fat, and carbs. And we don’t want you to go there.

Afterall, your metabolism is far more complex than a nutritional label. Even if we’re talking about micronutrients like vitamins and minerals, there’s more to wellness than numbers. And here at Real Plans, we believe that a healthy relationship with food is the most important ingredient for sustainable weight loss and a healthier, happier you.

What happens when you’re done macro tracking

Most folks use macro tracking for a period of time and then stop counting their calories, carbs, fat, and protein. This isn’t because they’ve given up on their health goals.

You may reach a point in your macro tracking journey when you have a general sense of what’s in food and whether or not you need it. Your choices are little more informed. And the need to track macros disappears.

When this happens, simply turn off the macro tracking function – you can turn it off temporarily or easily cancel with our customer service team.
