How to Import a Recipe Using the Mobile App

You can easily import recipes into your Real Plans Recipe Box using our import tool.

How to import from a webpage

  • Click onMagnifying Glasson the bottom of the screen
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Click Import
  • Click Import from a website
  • Use the Google search tool to find the webpage you want to import
  • Click Import
  • Select the image you would like to use for that recipe
  • Resize the image
  • Click Done
  • Review the information to ensure that it is complete
  • If desired, enter the active time, total time, servings, and any tags you would like to include
  • Select any applicable categories
    • For a recipe to schedule automatically,Season,Course, andMain Ingredientmust be specified
  • ClickSave Changes
  • Verify the ingredients and their quantities
  • ClickConfirm ingredients

How to manually import a recipe

You can manually import any recipe you may have that is not on a website.

  • Click onMagnifying Glasson the bottom of the screen
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Click Import
  • Click Create a recipe manually
  • Enter the recipe title, an image, the ingredient list, the instructions, and any notes
  • If desired, enter the active time, total time, servings, and any tags you would like to include
  • Select any applicable categories
    • For a recipe to schedule automatically,Season,Course, andMain Ingredientmust be specified
  • ClickSave Changes
  • Verify the ingredients and their quantities
  • ClickConfirm ingredients

Helpful Hints:

  • Bullet pointed ingredient lists and numbered directions work the best
  • Use the URL for the webpage and not the printable version of the recipe
  • In some situations it may not be necessary to include a unit of measure (UoM) for an ingredient. For example, 1 onion would not require a UoM
  • Select exact quantities for ingredients such as “4 pounds ground beef” instead of “3-4 pounds ground beef”
  • Use specific quantities, such as 14 ounces of canned tomatoes instead of 1 can of tomatoes
  • Fractions should be listed as 1 1/2 rather than 1+1/2.
