Be sure to let your Brussels sprouts caramelize while cooking. A wee bit of char on your sprouts — or any cruciferous veggie for that matter — tastes pretty delicious.

Brussels sprouts pair fabulously with cured pork. And these are no exception. Offer a dish of maple Brussels sprouts alongside  Orange Glazed Ham .

Ingredients

  • 2 lb brussels sprouts
  • 4 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 4 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. coarse sea salt, plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. Halve the brussels sprouts.
  3. Place the brussels sprouts in a large bowl and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the coconut oil, maple syrup and sea salt.
  5. Pour mixture over the sprouts and mix well.
  6. Place the sprouts on a lined baking sheet and bake for 35 minutes, flipping halfway through once they are browned and caramelized on the underside.
